In the frozen wasteland of Icewind Dale, an eternal winter has settled over the land, bringing with it relentless cold and untold dangers. Dark forces stir beneath the ice, while the region’s desperate inhabitants struggle for survival. As an ancient evil begins to awaken, whispers of long-forgotten powers grow louder, and a shadow of fear looms over the land. The adventurers are called to confront the rising threat before Icewind Dale is swallowed by an unending winter.
Hidden deep within the heart of the tundra lies Frostspire, a lost city entombed in ice and time. Once a thriving bastion of ancient power, it now slumbers beneath the snow — a place of frozen miracles and long-buried nightmares. Sealed within its heart is a primordial entity of devastating might, imprisoned by those who foresaw the ruin it could unleash.
But Auril the Frostmaiden, goddess of winter’s cruelty, has not forgotten. Her creatures scour the wastes for the key. If she succeeds, Icewind Dale — and perhaps all of Faerûn — will be plunged into a new age of endless night and deathless cold.
